Welcome to our blog!
Starting January 1st, 2017 (say what??) my husband, Josh, will begin his life as my round-the-clock stylist. For one. whole. year.
I’ll give you a minute (or 365) to let that sink in. You may have a hundred questions flooding your mind, and I do, too. But first, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Megan, proud wife to my husband Josh. We live outside Philadelphia, PA with our cat, Calcifer, and two crested geckos. We’ve been married a year and a half, and, despite his wart-hog like snoring and my habit of leaving clothes and shoes strewn about in every room of our home, we’re pretty happy about it.
My husband, Josh, is not actually a stylist. He works for an online university in the records department (mind you, it’s time for a job change). He cares little to nothing for fashion, and less for following the rules of said industry. So, why am I subjecting myself to this? Astute question, you. Allow me to explain.
Never in my twenty-four years of life have I met a man as colorful, raw, and unedited as Josh. The first night I laid eyes on him, he was wearing cut-off cords, a tie-dyed shirt, no shoes, a bear claw around his neck, porcupine quill through his ear, and a red scarf tied Little-Red-Riding-Hood style around his tawny blonde dreads. I was (coyly) awe-struck.
Whenever I describe his style to people, I feel inclined to mention his authenticity. Many people follow trends, but precious few start them. Josh is the latter.
I’m not the only one who thinks this. Twice in the past month, two separate fashion designers have approached me, one to ask how long Josh has been in the fashion industry (??), the other to compliment a shirt… that Josh picked out for me.
I, on the other hand, am often found in a puddle on our bedroom floor with five crumpled, tossed aside shirt options. I HATE getting ready. As a full-time model, let me tell you… Having a stylist is a thing of beauty. Oh, would you look at that transition?
So there you have it. A style-confused model, and a man who blazes the fashion trail, shattering rules and sparking attention along the way. So begins what we hope will be a fascinating journey of a fashion revolution that goes where no one has dared go before. I am a little nervous, but mostly confident in my husband… and excited not to dress myself.
Stay tuned! See you in 2017.
